Dr. Stephan Brock
Chief Executive Officer.
Dr. Brock received a Ph.D. in biochemistry from the University of Bayreuth. He has worked in several leading positions in the bioinformatics industry focusing on data integration, text-mining and content management supporting the pharmaceutical R&D value chain. As head of development and CEO of Metalife AG, Dr. Brock led a team of 70 analysts, scientists and software developers dedicated to the design, development and delivery to market of a fully integrated, end-user focused bioinformatics product portfolio. In 2004 Dr. Brock established a new business unit for LION bioscience focusing on a solution for process and portfolio management in the pharmaceutical industry integrating the R&D value chain from early discovery to clinical studies.
Dr. David B. Jackson
Vice President Discovery.
Dr. Jackson received his Ph.D. from the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL) in Heidelberg, Germany (awarded by the University of London). He previously held positions of Group Leader of Bioinformatics at Cellzome AG and as Head of Target finding at LION bioscience AG. As a drug discovery and bioinformatics professional he has an accomplished background in the design and application of innovative discovery solutions for the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries. His strong interest in biotech innovation is particularly focused on emergent technologies and therapies, thematic areas covered in his role as expert evaluator for the Enterprise Ireland Biotechnology directorate (commercialization fund). Dr. Jackson has co-authored several major scientific publications in journals such as Nature Cell Biology, Science and Drug Discovery Today and is a named inventor on several patents.
Mr. Axbal Lara
Director of Clinical and Research IT.
Mr. Lara brings over 10 years of progressive experience in the information technology field, servicing the BioTech/Life Science, Health Care, Academic Sector, and Retail Industries. His experience includes technology evaluation, business development, program/project management, systems design, systems development, deployment, and support. Mr. Lara has a proven track record in the implementation of information technology solutions to meet customer requirements with project budgets ranging from 500K to 10 M. Mr. Lara holds a B.S. in Computer Systems and Business Administration from the internationally known Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores Monterrey (ITESM) and two bilingual study abroad programs in computer science with the University of Arizona and the Robert Morris University. Mr. Lara also holds a Master in Business Administration (MBA) with a concentration in Information Systems from the University of Houston.
